Kari Beadner - Executive Director
Guiding Star Orange City has begun from a growth of FertilityCare Education. Kari Beadner opened Orange City FertilityCare Center in 2012. The Center teaches the Creighton Model FertilityCare System and NaPro Technology. It has been a natural progression to begin the process of opening a Guiding Star Center in Orange City, IA. Kari Beadner is the Executive Director, married to Aaron and mother to a 7 year old, 5 year old, a baby resting in the arms of Jesus and 2 year old.
Kaleigh Van Middendorp - Client Resource Coordinator
Kaleigh started as a client of Orange City FertilityCare and as a volunteer for Guiding Star Orange City. She became passionate about working with women and families in the community to support them in their life-affirming decisions for health care and family life. Kaleigh graduated from Northwestern College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work in 2017. Kaleigh began teaching the Creighton Model of FertilityCare in 2018 as a FertilityCare Practitioner. She was also on the Board of Directors for almost two years before accepting the position of Client Resource Coordinator. Her previous work as a crisis advocate helped her to understand and have compassion for people in their time of need.
Kaleigh lives in Hull, Iowa with her husband, Brett. They have been married since September of 2017 and have a dog named Patch. Kaleigh is also training to be a Doula.
Jill Cunard - Nurse Manager
Cory and I were some of Kari’s first clients with Natural Family Planning and are so grateful for all she taught us! Kari was also our doula for our son Elisha, and Kayla VanWyhe was our doula for Zoe-both were amazing experiences. We have greatly benefited from the services at Guiding Star!
I graduated from Northwestern College in 2015 with my Bachelors in Nursing and have always had a passion for Women’s health. Right out of college I worked in the NICU for about 3 years. I loved being able to take care of the babies, but also really enjoyed empowering the parents on how to take the best care of their baby. Educating the family was something I really enjoyed. I also had the opportunity to be a Clinical Instructor for Northwestern for students during their OB Clinical. It was fun to see students grow in their knowledge of the OB patient, and it was a great experience that challenged me. I am looking forward to doing the same thing at Guiding Star, educating and empowering women and their families on how to take care of themselves in the most natural, holistic, life-affirming way possible. Having an opportunity to show moms a “window into their womb” by performing ultrasounds is truly a gift, and I’m humbled and so thrilled to be the Nurse Manager for Guiding Star Orange City.
Board of Directors:
Open position - Board Chair
Jessica Worthley - Treasurer
I am passionate about the work Guiding Star Orange City will be doing. I could have only hoped it was around sooner! After dealing with Endometriosis for years, I finally found Orange City Fertility Care who got me in contact with Pope Paul VI Institute to perform surgery to remove it. During my first pregnancy, I asked around for local doulas to help me through labor. After a few dead ends, I was able to find one. My breastfeeding journey brought more struggles as I searched to find an IBCLC who could help me with my supply issues and my son’s posterior tongue tie. These are now services that local women will be able to go to Guiding Star Orange City to find, saving them time and further discouragement.
I was born and raised in Remsen, Iowa. I graduated from Buena Vista University in 2009 with my BA in Business Administration. I then decided to pursue my MBA in Finance from Bellevue University in 2011. I married my husband Josh in 2013 and we welcomed our first son, Sebastian, in 2016. I am now a stay-at-home mom after working in the financial industry for 6 years. We recently moved to Danville, Virginia but I am continuing as Treasurer because I know how much Guiding Star Orange City is needed in Northwest Iowa.
Open position - Secretary
Kelli Norton - Spiritual Director
Months before joining Guiding Star Orange City as a volunteer in May, 2018, I sensed the Lord asking me, “You say you’re pro-life. What does that mean? How are you living that out?”. For me, it was a decision to be actively involved in something I believe in: Life!
Since becoming part of Guiding Star, I
have learned that there are many ways and opportunities to be involved and serve, each one just as important as the other, in creating a Culture of Life.
My husband, Don, and I have been married nearly 30 years. When we started our family, I was blessed to become a stay-at-home mom and also home school our three children, who are now grown-up!

Guiding Star Orange City first came into my life while I was looking for help while breastfeeding. As a new mom, finding this organization that so closely aligns with my beliefs was incredibly helpful and very calming to my tired and frazzled nerves. As a woman, I am thankful for Guiding Star’s philosophy that our bodies were created beautifully and deserve understanding.
The more I become involved with Guiding Star, the more passionate I become about helping women and men discover just how wonderfully God created us to be. My husband Corey and I have been married since September of 2013. We have a son, Jace who was born October of 2017 and a chocolate lab named Dexter. We live just outside of Orange City on an acreage. I am a radiologic technologist and working on obtaining my birth doula certification and Corey is an electrician.

My journey with Guiding Star Orange City began in 2016 while searching and praying for options for our infertility struggle that fit our moral compass. Orange City FertilityCare Center was exactly what we were searching for. We got answers to questions that we had been searching for for years. Through the FertilityCare Center and Pope Paul VI Institute we were able to treat my condition and bring our Rainbow Baby into the world. God guided us on this journey, and I am forever grateful for leading us to Guiding Star. I want to open the discussion of the female body to women and young girls so that no one else needs to wait 20 years to understand how perfectly God created them. Guiding Star is here to help you one your journey!
I am happily married to my husband, John and in love with our baby girl, Willa. We also have 3 fur babies at home to keep us on our toes! We live in Hartley, Iowa. My husband is an electrician and I am the owner of Align Chiropractic PC in Sanborn, Iowa. I look forward to paying it forward to Guiding Star for all that they have given our family.
